A community who grows...
Drawn together into a community of Christ followers, you are invited to participate in the life of GSLC in ways that bring you joy and bring glory to God.
If you offer your food to the hungry and satisfy the needs of the afflicted, then your light shall rise in the darkness and your gloom be like the noonday. Isaiah 58:10
GSLC’s Social Action Ministry impacts the lives of those in need in our community and the world. We serve meals four times a year at the Lawrence Interdenominational Nutrition Kitchen (LINK), collect food for the Ballard Center, provide Christmas gifts for families as part of our ministry.
And what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8
GSLC is a founding member of Justice Matters, an interfaith organization made up of diverse congregations in the Lawrence, KS region. We have come together to move toward a city where justice rolls down like a mighty river. We work toward this vision as an expression of our faith and values of love, relationship and justice. We work on issues of affordable housing, homelessness, mental health, jail alternatives and restorative justice practices. Many GSLC members serve passionately as team leaders and Pastor Ted has served as co-president and co-vice president of the organization.
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness. Come into his presence with singing. Psalm 100
Music is an integral part of life at GSLC. The music ministry helps lead the congregation in worship by sharing uplifting, meaningful music. The Classic Worship Choir praises God through the gift of music during the 11:00 worship service. The choir welcomes all who enjoy singing. Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings from September through May.
Fourth Friday Fellowship
Adults gather on the fourth Friday of each month to enjoy fellowship at movies, games, wine tastings, cookouts, restaurant samplings and other fun activities.
