Worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing.  Know that the Lord is good.  It is he that made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.  Psalm 100:2-3

Grounded in Word and Sacrament, worship is central to our life and faith as a Christian community.  Our worship together is our expression of thanks and praise for God’s steadfast and abundant love, forgiveness, and grace.

Holy Communion is celebrated each Sunday as we remember Christ and all that He has done for us in His life, death and resurrection.

A variety of liturgies are used throughout the church year to guide and enhance our services.   We lift our voices in song to offer our praise.  The gift of music is shared by the choir and instrumentalists as they lead the congregation in uplifting and meaningful music.

Good Shepherd members and friends of all ages participate in worship as ushers, readers, communion assistants, assisting ministers, musicians, prayer partners and more.

Children are always welcome and are encouraged to attend worship where they can enjoy their own Children’s Message.  Older youth participate in such ways as reading lessons, assisting with communion, serving as an acolyte, and participating in music.  For convenience, a staffed nursery is provided during worship.

In addition to regular Sunday morning services, Good Shepherd conducts special worship services including:

  * Wednesday evenings during the seasons of Advent

     (the four weeks before Christmas)

and Lent (the six weeks before Easter),
   * an outdoor Easter sunrise worship service,
   * a Blessing of the Animals in October (in honor of St

      Francis of Assisi), and
   * an outdoor worship in a park on Labor Day weekend.
